St Mark's

Worship is a vital element of our church life. We meet at different times during the week for different types of worship.

Sunday morning worship starts at 11am.
The whole church comes together for the start of the service where there is a couple of choruses and an all age talk before the children and young people leave for Evolution. After that there are a few more hymns, the sermon, prayers and an offering is uplifted. Tea, coffee and cakes are served in the large hall after the service.

Wednesday morning worship runs from October to April and starts at 10.30am
The service on a Wednesday morning is a short worship service with a few hymns, prayers and a talk. There is also a time of fellowship after the service with tea and coffee.

Prayer meeting is on a Wednesday night from 7pm.
Prayer is vital for any community of believers and the prayer meeting is open to everyone. It is a short time of prayer sometimes shared other times in silence, knowing that God hears our prayers.

The choir practices on a Thursday night from 7.30pm.
The choir enjoy praising God through song and help lead worship on a Sunday morning.

The Tuesday Singers meet every Tuesday from September to December, culminating in a Big Sing Christmas Concert. There are no auditions for this group as it's for those who have an enthusiasm for singing the message of Christmas. Each week we rehearse the songs for the concert, take time for a cuppa and a chat, and get to know each other a little better. Our weekly donation for the tea/coffee is collected and added to donations from tickets and programmes on the Concert evening, and half of the money goes to a charity chosen by the group annually. The other half goes to our church funds.
